Cohana Small Scissors with lacquer handles + gold trim (Shunuri-painting / Red)
Cohana Small Scissors with lacquer handles + gold trim (Shunuri-painting / Red)
The Vermillion Red scissors are made in Seki, Japan's leading cutlery town. From tiny scissors to large knives Hasegawa's craftsmen adjust the slicing of the blades for each pair one by one, resulting in a sharp cut. The blade tip is thin, finely filed on the tip to help the scissors slice into place. It's is easy to use for detailed work and is recommended for stitching craft and handicraft.*
The handles are painted with a rich colour lacquer with transparent lacquer overlaid. The glossy surface is a rich, deep tone which changes over time. This is unique to natural lacquer, and with each passing year, a beautiful, smooth lustre appears. The polished surface of the lacquer fits comfortably with your hand, and the more you use it, the more it becomes a working tool, not just a pretty object.
A strip of gold tinted lacquer finishes of the rich colour, with the scissors tied with a tassle of silver and gold thread. The scissors blades slide into a genuine leather sheath, with both presented in a neat light wood box.
